Screening Facilities
The Alan Armer Theater
Completed with $1 million dollar donation from Mr. and Mrs. Alan Armer, this 130 seat theater is located in the east wing of Manzanita Hall. The projection facilities include 35mm as well as a state-of-the-art digital projection system, dolby digital and THX sound. The CSUN Cinematheque programs the theater and offers a full spectrum of first-run and classic films as well as selected student productions. The Gallery of Motion Picture Poster Art
featuring The Mike Kaplan Collection
The Cinema and Television Arts department boasts the only permanent museum gallery space dedicated to the preservation and display of classic motion picture posters. The gallery leads to the Alan Armer Theater and extends into the foyer of the screening room itself. The Mike Kaplan Collection consists of 1500 rare pre-1945 posters representing Hollywood films distributed around the world. The gallery will be displaying the collection on a rotating basis over the next several year.s
